Easy Ways To Give Your Living Room A Makeover

Had enough with that boring old living room? Well it is time to give it a makeover! You might have been postponing it since you assumed it was too expensive; repainting the walls, buying new furniture and accessories etc. However, who said you need to do them all? So here are some of the easiest ways you could give your living room a makeover and some don’t even take a cent.

1. Rearrange

You’d be amazed what wonder rearranging could do. You simply have to push the couch to the other end of the room and arrange the rest of the furniture accordingly. However, it could be a bit difficult if your couch does not fit anywhere else in the room. If so, keep it where it is and do simple changes with the lamps, good coffee tables and TV stand. It could take some time to get used to, however if you could pull it off, then your entire room will look good as new.

2. Focus on the walls

One wall could do it all. Leave everything as they are and simply change the colour of one wall; you’d see the difference. You can repaint it, add some texture to it, use wallpaper or simply hang up a new painting on the wall. Do anything that could change the look of one wall and that would be enough. However, if you are living on rent and cannot do anything permanent on the walls, there is removable wallpaper to make life easier.

3. Add one new thing

Well, there is no harm spending one small item that could bring life to your living room. It could be a new entertainment unit, a new carpet, new curtains or simply a new vase. Go on, get creative and buy one thing that you feel will add value to your living room. It should catch the eye of anyone who walks into the room so that he would notice that it is new. Crafty items such as vases and other ornaments done by yourself would also be great. Click here for more info on Scandinavian entertainment unit.

As mentioned before, crafty lamps could do the trick. You can even use a few coloured lights here and there to add a bit of a funky look to it. Make sure you use LED bulbs since though they cost a bit higher, they could save you heaps from the electricity bill.
