If you have gotten your holidays at the end of the year and you finally have some free time on your hands, you may want to consider starting a small hobby business to earn some extra money during this time. As hobby business is does not have to feel like working. It would be just you enjoying yourself, doing what you love and selling your work to make some extra cash while you are at it.
Make a list of all your talents
You are likely to have many talents and many things that you love doing. You can make a list of all of them and decide which one of them you are going to turn in to a small business. You could be a painter in Gold Coast, a baker and a great cook. Of these, you need to decide which one you are going to take seriously this holiday and turn in to an actual business.
You can possibly sell your amateur paintings online for a small amount of money that will come as pocket money to you. If you find that there is quite a demand for them, you might even want to consider developing the business and continuing it even after work has already started. You can use your weekends and your free time after work to draw a few amazing pictures and sell them. Of course, you will not be pressured to do them as you can take your time, relax and finish them at your own pace.
If you love to bake, the holidays are a great time to develop this talent too by baking lots of inexpensive holiday treats for friends and family. If they love the food that you have made, you could consider selling them to other friends and family online for a small profit. This way, you are getting people’s attention and laying down the foundation for an even bigger better business. Doing this online could one day lead to you having your own restaurant. Social media and the internet allows you to reach thousands of people, friends, family, friends of friends and friends of family without having to actually invest any money in advertising. You can use this to your advantage and build up a business from scratch. Do not let it take over your life at the beginning. You can start by selling one a week or two a week and then increase your sales very slowly at your own pace until one day you can move away from your full time job and do your business full time.
